Artefact Design...

Planning and design of interpretive exhibitions, signage, and graphics

Malin Burnham Sailing Center
Stainless steel building ID
The San Diego Yacht Club’s new sailing center is a LEED-NC Silver Certified building. We were invited to plan the displays and interpretive elements for the new building, then asked to create the building signage. Working closely with Architects Hanna Gabriel Wells, and in keeping with the spirit of sustainability, we choose a simple palette from the building materials—stainless steel and ipe wood. Porcelain enamel was selected for the 36' long historical timeline integrated into the second floor railing.

The Artefact team provided interpretive planning, writing, exhibit design, graphic design, and fabrication coordination. Porcelain enamel by KVO, sign fabrication and installation by Glanz Signs.
